CC#2 1811 Overton-103 Half Dollar 1811 Capped Bust Half Dollar. O-103. Rarity-3. Large 8. MS-65 (NGC). Die State 103.1. A new addition to the Herrman census in its NGC MS-65 holder, this coin is now ranked as CC#2 for the 1811 O-103 attribution behind the Simpson coin in PCGS MS-65+. It is a lustrous and frosty Gem with enhancing pinkish-russet and silver-blue iridescence to both sides. An otherwise razor sharp strike wanes just a bit at star 1 on the obverse and the letters ST in STATES on the reverse, but to no detriment. Bold clash marks on both sides are as made and include the digit 0 in the denomination in the obverse field above Liberty's cap. Expectably free of post-production blemishes for the assigned grade, this is both an outstanding early date Capped Bust half dollar type coin and an important find for the Overton variety specialist. Provenance: From our February 2026 Showcase Auction, lot 25112. PCGS# 6096. NGC ID: 24EU. Click here for certification details from NGC.
