1793 Liberty Cap Half Cent. Head Left. C-1. Rarity-3+. Good-4 (PCGS). Manley Die State 3.0, Fuhrman Die State 3. Despite overall heavy wear and considerable granularity to both sides, the cud break on the reverse outside the letters F AME is plainly evident under magnification, confirming the late die state. Manley (1998) describes this state as "Very rare" while Ed Fuhrman (The Half Cent Handbook, 2022) assigns this state a Rarity-6 rating. Some of the design elements have been lost to wear, but Liberty's portrait and the date are sufficiently bold, LIBERTY and about half of the legend on reverse legible, much of the wreath discernible. An intriguing offering for the half cent variety enthusiast. Provenance: From the Warwick Collection, assembled from the 1930s through the 1960s. PCGS# 1000. NGC ID: 2222.
