13pc Group of Vintage Silver Gelatin Suez Canal Maritime Snapshots

This mid-century photographic collection documents coastal maritime transit and merchant shipping routes through original personal silver gelatin snapshots. The grouping is anchored by multiple clear views of the French cargo vessel Docteur Roux with its name clearly visible in white block lettering across the dark hull. Other shipboard snapshots capture intricate details of rigging, life-saving davits, a passing merchant vessel bearing a distinct star insignia on its funnel, and an artistic perspective of the open ocean framed perfectly through a circular porthole. The regional geography of the voyage is established by exceptional shoreline views of a traditional sailing dhow, camels pacing the Egyptian coastline, and a distant vantage of the De Lesseps Monument positioned at the strategic entrance of the Suez Canal.
