11pc New York and Cuba Mail Steamship Company 1930s Travel Ephemera Collection

Collection of travel ephemera related to the New York and Cuba Mail Steamship Company (The Ward Line), primarily dating to 1939. The group includes two illustrated dinner menus from the turbo-electric liner Oriente from 1939. The menus feature color lithographic covers depicting the National Capitol Building in Havana and a rural Cuban street scene with a donkey cart while the others depict the lighthouse at the Morro Castle in Havana. Also included is a souvenir Havana Club cocktail card with a printed illustration of a rum bottle and glass, a Welcome to Havana tourist guide map, a shipboard schedule titled Today's Activities for the T.S.S. Oriente, and a printed pamphlet containing a list of Havana cigar brands and retailers. The collection features postcards, including one bearing a green adhesive postage stamp reading Republica de Cuba and 2 C.
