HE SHOU/ HE GUANWU \n\nChina, dated 1924 \n\n161 x 47 cm, R. \n\nSummer Mountains after Wang Hui. Framed under glass, ink on paper. Two inscriptions and signature by the artist: ?Copy of the painting ?Summer Mountains? of Huanghe shanren (Wang Meng, 1308-1385) by Gengyan sanren (Wang Hui, 1632-1717). ? In the mengqiu (7th) month of the jiazi year (1924), Guanwu He Shou.? Three seals of the artist: ?Guanwu?, ?Jieyitang zhuren? etc. ?Lady Tan Jiequan insisted to give the painting as a present to the great statesman Shinaide (Schneider) for examining the old work. I wrote this and ask for correction, in the winter of the jisi year (1929), again inscribed by Guanwu.?
