What do you buy for someone who has everything? Something to eat everything with, of course. Jean Elysée Puiforcat was a French silversmith, sculptor and designer, considered one of the most important silversmiths of the Art Deco period. It seems his designs continued to have an influence on art and design in the 20th century as Andy Warhol collected Puiforcat silverware during his visits to Paris in the 1970s. In 1988 the collection was sold at Sotheby's for an incredible $450 000.

Patek Philippe is considered as one of the most prestigious luxury watchmaker in the world. The company was founded in 1839 in Geneva as a pocket watch company. Royal Patek Philippe clients include Prince Albert, Christian IX, Hussein Kamel of Egypt, Princess Louise of Denmark, Queen Victoria and Victor Emmanuel III of Italy.

A ''skeletonised'' watch's design means that all parts of the mechanics are visible. Any non-essential metal on the mechanical parts is stripped back to create a minimalist design.

It's not just diamonds that are forever...around 1906, Cartier began to transform the purse by creating it out of gold and adorning it with diamonds. Purses have a place amid the royal tiaras and magnificent brooches documented in Cartier's main archives.

From the 1910s and through to the Jazz Age the purse grew in popularity as a fashion statement. Thanks to the audacious flappers, who were rewriting their own code of femininity, women were carrying their cosmetics on them - daring to touch up their make up in public.
