Released in only a few, with some different special modifications, this Full-Gold Submariner is the rarest and most precious metal Submariners. It is the Full-Gold Submariner with a Lapis Lazuli dial. Rolex made just a few of this model and never used the rare material for any other dial on a Submariner.

However, Rolex used this material for their dials in other models like the Datejust, Day-Date and the Cellini, but never in a Submariner. This is the first and the last Lazuli dial Submariner ever to be made.

The bright blue dial is made out of lapis lazuli, a metamorphic rock with a deep blue color that in history has been prized for the intense color. Because of the difficult process of manufacturing a lapis dial due to the hard stones delicate nature it watches are very rare and hence extremely sought after among collectors.

This 18ct Full-Gold Rolex Oyster Perpetual Submariner ref.16618 with a lapis lazuli dial is up for sale at Fellows on Tuesday, May 29th, 2018. The condition of the watch is extraordinary and has an estimation of £30,000 - £50,000
