Perfectly timed with UEFA Euro 2016,this week, three-time World Cup Champion, FIFA Player of the Century and Brazilian Football icon Pelé will offer his incredible collection of memorabilia, awards, personal property and iconic items from his entire career for the first time ever.

The sale will take place in London, arguably the home of some of the world's most dedicated soccer fans, through Julien’s Auctions. More than 2 000 items will be presented from Pelé's illustrious career.

Pelé is considered to be the most important soccer player of all time, the Brazilian soccer player became a superstar thanks to his performance in the 1958 World Cup. He holds the record as the youngest player to ever play in, and score in, a World Cup Final and holds the Guinness World Record for goals scored in a career with 1,283.

Pelé was born Edson Arantes do Nascimento on October 23, 1940, in Três Corações, Brazil. He played professionally in Brazil for 20 years, winning three World Cups, before later joining the New York Cosmos.

Despite growing up in poverty, Pelé's nurtured his talent by kicking a rolled-up sock stuffed with rags around the streets of Bauru. From such humble beginnings, the player has become one the of the most admired players of all time, which will in no doubt mean the sale will bring in some serious record prices.
Pelé: The Collection auction covers every stage of his career - both personal and professional. Pieces from Pelé's legendary life, from his signing with Santos FC in 1956 at the age of 15 all the way through his post-career humanitarian efforts and being named Santos FC’s Lifetime Global Ambassador for the club in December 2014 will all be included.

Highlights include Pelé’s Jules Rimet Trophy ($400 000-$600 000), Pelé’s 1958, 1962 and 1970 World Cup Medals ($100 000-$200 000), Pelé’s 1 000th goal ball ($40 000-$60 000), Pelé’s 1977 NY Cosmos NASL Championship ring ($30 000-$40 000) and Pelé’s L’Equipe Athlete of the Century Award (Estimate: $20 000-$30
Pelé stated: ''Having donated a significant portion of my collection to the City of Santos, I have decided to allow fans and collectors to own a piece of my history as well.  I hope they treasure these artifacts and share my story with their children and generations to come.  I will also be donating a portion of the proceeds from the auction to Pequeno Principe, the largest pediatric hospital in Brazil.''
