Made of platinum and diamonds, this transformable jewel is in the shape of a comet and is decorated with diamonds weighing 4.08 carats.

As well as the impressive carats, what is also special about this piece is its design features. With removable parts, the brooch can be transformed into new pieces. Made of detachable clips, the Mauboussin brooch at auction at Cazo can be worn in many ways, the main motif can fit on to an bangle or bracelet, as in the image above, and worn in a variety of other ways. This type of jewelry was popular in the 17th century and once again in the second half of the 19th century. (Source: Jewel Dictionary, M.R.).
