With a hefty 87.9% of lots in the sale sold, Stephen Mould, Head of Sotheby's Wine, Europe, commented: "We are delighted to finish the year on a high with the best result for a London wine sale this year. The total is the highest Single Owner total we have achieved in over a decade and is a fitting tribute to a collection of this magnitude.''

The Bordeaux range in the sale included First and Second Growths from both Right and Left Banks, with many in original wooden cases. Landmark vintages such as 1945, 1959 and 1961, and excellent recent vintages including 1982, 1996 and 2000 were present in the sale.
