The auction took place in Monaco on May 12th, attracting buyers from all over the world with a total revenue of 23,317,289 euros. One of the highlights of the sale was a heavenly Ferrari 275 GTB from 1966 sold for 2,142,500 euros. Recently restored, it was part of a very limited edition with only 88 cars produced.

Another exciting lot in the Sotheby’s sale was a Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse from 2015, that sold for an amazing 1,720,625 euros. You could also find cars from Porsche and Chevrolet in the impressive collection.

The Sotheby’s Monaco auction most high profile seller must have been Pope Francis. The object up for bidding was a brand new Lamborghini Huracán RWD Coupé, a donation from the Italian luxury car manufacturer in November 2017. The car is in the white and yellow colors of the Vatican and is signed by His Holiness.

The car’s estimated value is between 250,000 - 350,000 euros, but went for 809,375 euros - three times its estimated price. The entire amount will go to different charity projects chosen by the Vatican.
