Christy MacLear, the executive director of the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation, said in a statement: "Due to the recent events in Europe and the Middle East, we believe that it is more important than ever to engage in cross-cultural discussions."

The chosen institutions include Columbia University, New York, which will exhibit the photographs in the law department in order for the students to explore issues of human rights. The American University of Beirut will include the prints in lectures which examine the relationship between art, activism and religion.
