A  18K rose gold (750) pocket watch with universal time, double flange housing, patinated dial with Roman numerals, rotating disk 24 with an indication of the different time zones of the great capitals of the world. This pocket watch is one of the very few pieces crafted by Rolex at the end of World War II. The famous patented system of Universal Hours was the invention of the great watchmaker Louis Cottier (1894 - 1966). Louis Cottier was born in Carouge, his father was the watchmaker Emmanuel Cottier. Young Louis began his training in Geneva and soon gained a reputation for talented watchmaker. Louis Cottier's invention was adopted by big firms such as Patek Philippe (ref. 605, 1415, 2523, etc.), Vacheron Constantin (ref. 3372) and Rolex ( ref. 4262). The model is an exceptional piece of watchmaking as it allows all time zones to be read at one glance.

In 1967, the City of Geneva paid tribute to Louis Cottier with a permanent collection of his workshop, tools and archives at the Musée de l'Horlogerie et de l'Emaillerie.

A rare stainless steel bracelet chronograph specially commissioned by order of the United Arab Emirates. The watch made for the UAE is instantly recognizable due to its emblem on the dial and is among the most sought after vintage Rolex for collectors. The eagle holds in its claws a scroll bearing the inscription of the name of the country: الإمارات العربية المتحدة / Al Imarat al-'Arabiyya al-Muttahida (United Arab Emirates) (United Arab Emirates). In the early 1970's, the United Arab Emirates commissioned for these Rolex watches to be made. Most of the "Daytona Eagle", signed by the Ministry of Defence, were acquired by collectors. They were offered to senior officials, foreign dignitaries and diplomats from the Sovereign.
