After stating to the press he would be creating other, unauthorised artworks during his time in the city, his trademark OBEY tags and Andre the Giant faces appeared throughout Detroit.

A case is held against him by the city for felony charges of malicious destruction that could see him land 1o years in jail. Fairey will appear in court at Wayne County Circuit on September 15.

The case is sending out a message to other street artists that serious charges will be brought to them should they complete illegal artworks.

It has been reported that the removal of Fairey's illegal artworks will cost the city around $24 000.
