The program, which is lead by Tang Art Advisory's CEO Annelien Bruins, has been specially created by the New-York based art advisory firm and One Art Nation, the online international art community educating art collectors and professionals.

Transparency in the art market has become key. With companies such as Barnebys, Tang Art Advisory and One Art Nation all part of this growing need for clarity in the art market, the Art Advisory 101 Program will bring to the market an industry-wide standard for best practice.

Currently, no industry-wide standard exists for best practice: not for individual art advisors or for art advisory firms. It is this opacity that can, in some cases, prevent collectors from hiring an art advisor. This is unfortunate because a good art advisor can navigate their clients through the art market, helping them to make choices which suit their needs, from educating them on art to reducing their transactional risk.

For aspiring art advisors no education exists on topics such as appropriate fee models or managing client relationships, including potential conflicts of interest.

The Art Advisory 101 Program consists of a series of informative and interactive online courses, which have been created to guide aspiring art advisors on how to navigate the art world, set up a successful art advisory business and follow best practice. The five pre-recorded modules, each 30-45 minutes in length, are available for participants to view at their convenience. A live and interactive session is offered quarterly. The course is concluded with an exam and a Certificate of Completion for passing.

Barnebys, Tang Art Advisory and One Art Nation are offering Barnebys' users a $100 discount off of the $375 program cost, bringing the price down to $275. To take advantage of this exclusive offer see here and enrol here. Don't forget to enter the promo code AA101BARNEBYS at the checkout.
