Created in 1983 by Cartier, the Panthère watch quickly became a symbol of the watchmaking world. The panther has been the emblematic animal of the house since 1914. It is featured heavily in pieces from the 1930s, during the time that Jeanne Toussaint was the director of Haute Joaillerie at Cartier.

Square case, screw on the bezel, Roman numerals are part of the characteristics of the Panthère watch. A veritable blend of watchmaking and jewelry, the Panthère watch is a signature jewel watch from Cartier.

The model at Catawiki is made of yellow gold and set with diamonds all over the dial and the bracelet. The so-called rice grain bracelet is another characteristic of the Panthère de Cartier model. This type of mesh is directly inspired by the Art Deco period.

The watch is auctioned in its original box and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity and a one-year warranty.

In addition to the classic model, the Panthère watch comes in several variations: the Panther Vendome, round case and the Panther Ribbon, which feature a ribbon design on both the case and bracelet.
