Now 90 years old, Keane will be presented the special Lifetime Achievement Award by artist Mab Graves at the LA fair. Keane Eyes Gallery of San Francisco will be exhibiting a retrospective of her career, entitled ''Margaret Keane: A Survivor And Woman of Two Centuries.''

Born in 1927 in Nashville, Tennessee, Margaret's curious subjects inspired a generation of drawing across many disciplines. As well as director Tim Burton, her work has influenced art and culture from Craig McCracken's doe-eyed Powderpuff Girls cartoon to contemporary artists such as Yoshitomo Nara.

During her career, Keane was commissioned to create portraits for entertainer Liberace, the Kennedy family, as well as a reel of actors including Zsa Zsa Gabor, Joan Crawford, Dean Martin and Helena Bonham Carter.

The LA Art Show will also honor the 30th anniversary of Stanley Kubrik's hard-hitting Vietnam War movie Full Metal Jacket. Photographs captured by Matthew Modine, who has recently starred in Stranger Things, on the set of the movie using an old Rolleiflex will be the subject of an exhibition.

The images come from Modine's 2005 release Full Metal Jacket Diary, a 224-page collection of photographs and notes.

Modine took on the role of Joker, a war correspondent for Stars & Stripes, in the 1987 movie. In order to get into character, Modine would carry a camera and a notebook on set with him, which inspired him to start recording the movie's production.

The LA Art Show will from January 11-14. For more information, see here.
