The set was issued for the Centenary of British Administration from when the Colony was established in 1833 and are widely considered by philatelists as one of the most attractive sets ever issued, printed by Bradbury Wilkinson & Co Ltd. The stamp has been estimated to sell for $2 260-1 415.

Bradbury Wilkinson & Co are one of the biggest names when it comes to banknotes and stamps from the 1850's onwards. The English engraver and printer of banknotes, postage stamps and share certificates was established in the 1850s by Henry Bradbury and begin printing banknotes in 1856.

The stamps depict various scenes from the island including whales and penguins. The £1 top valued lot depicts King George V.
