A sculpture by the artist Angelo Botello, titled Girl Standing with Umbrella, sold for $57,500 at a Modern Art & Design Auction held May 14 by Palm Beach Modern Auctions in West Palm Beach, Fla. Also, a monograph by Alex Katz titled Good Morning, Study III finished at $47,500; an original acrylic-on-canvas painting by Larry Poons (b. 1937) knocked down for $31,250; a Picasso pottery wood owl titled Chouette breezed to $23,750; and a Jean Dubuffet serigraph scroll, 14/80, Pace edition, made $10,000. Prices include a 25 percent buyer's premium.

A magnificent and rare pair of Chinese ormolu bronze automaton clocks from the Guangzhou Workshop sold for $600,000 at a sale of Fine Art, Decorative Art, Furnishings, Jewelry & Asian Art held May 21-22 by Clars Auction Gallery in Oakland, Calif. Also, an oil-on-canvas painting by Ennio Morlotti (It., 1910-1992), titled Studio per Bagnante (1956), changed hands for $72,600; and an untitled view of San Francisco Bay by California artist William Hahn (1829-1887) found a new owner for $42,350. Prices include a 19 percent buyer's premium.

A one-cent Mermaid and Artillery two-player gun game sold for $317,200 at a Premier Coin-Op & Advertising Auction held May 14-15 by Morphy Auctions (based in Denver, Pa.) in Las Vegas, Nev. Also, an Automatic Target Machine Company pistol arcade game hammered for $195,200; a 5-cent Chas. Fey Big Six payout machine rose to $128,100; a 5-cent Caille Tourist cast-iron slot machine went for $115,900; and a 5-cent Caille Twin Centaur upright double slot machine crossed the finish line for $103,700. Prices include a 22 percent buyer's premium.

A Chinese porcelain under glazed blue and copper red dragon moon flask sold for $43,200 at a Spring Estates Auction held May 21-22 by Kaminski Auctions in Beverly, Mass. Also, a Chinese blue and white bowl brought $22,800; an abstract landscape painting by Claude Venard (Fr., 1913-1999) achieved $9,000; a Tiffany Studios double poinsettia lamp realized $14,400; a Tiffany poppy-style lamp lit up the room for $12,000; and a Lord & Goddard Hepplewhite tall case clock chimed on time for $9,600. Prices are inclusive of the buyer's premium.

A light brown pink square emerald cut diamond ring of 9.87 carats from the collection of Fay Dawes Couyoumjan (1921-2005) sold for $281,000 at an Important Jewelry Auction held April 18 by Doyle New York in New York City. Also, a ring by Gumbiner centering an F color 7.80-carat emerald-cut diamond, from the collection of Gloria T. Confort (1925-2015), fetched $269,000; and a geometric gold and diamond Escalier bracelet created by Cartier in 1938, from the daughter of a Nobel Laureate, made $149,000. Prices include a 25 percent buyer's premium.
