From Antiquity to the 20th century, the collection crosses continents, from sub-Saharan Africa to Asia and Germany, the Netherlands and the Mediterranean.

The collection maps the journey of an European amateur collector, with some 60 pieces going under the gavel, 35 of which are exquisite tribal art pieces Sierra Leone to the Congo.

The collection also features German expressionist works signed by Paul Klee and Christian Rolhfs, as well as Italian and Flemish works from the 17th century, including antique marble.

Within the collection, a Punu mask from Gabon is a fine example of traditional tribal art.

A drawing by Paul Klee also caught our eye. Far from the representation of the plausible world, it presents an illustration of the dream world of the artist.
