The piece of architecture is inspired by Giorgio Morandi still life and has been completed in six geometric shapes coated in stone, lead-coated copper and Finnish plywood.

The house was finished in 1987 and in the same year it was awarded House and Garden's design of the year.

In 1982, Mike and Penny Winton first read about Gehry when he was featured in the New York Times. In the same year, they commissioned him to design their guest house.

In 2002 the couple sold the land and all property on it, including the guest house, to Kirt Woodhouse. Woodhouse donated the house to he University of St. Thomas.

Now the house is going under the gavel at Wright with an estimate of $1 000 000-1 5000 000. It is a chance to own a fine design by a leading 20th century architect. The house will need to be relocated as the lot includes the house only.
