Fairey has created portraits of Debbie Harry, David Bowie, Jimi Hendrix and Joey Ramone, which have each are priced at $40 000 each, whilst other artwork in the exhibition start from just $1 000.

Also included in the exhibition will be photographs of rock icons Mick Jagger, Madonna and Elvis by famed photographers James Fortune, Mick Rock and Baron Wolman.

Rock Style has been organised by Jeffrey Deitch and Tommy Hilfiger and will run from September 22 - October 30. Designer Hilfiger and art dealer Deitch have collaborated before, they were behing Miley Cyrus' performance  at last year's Art Basel.

The idea of the exhibition is to portray a time when musicians were in control of their own image, the result being iconic person style, which inspired fans and the fashion industry alike.

"Musicians were more influential in the world of fashion than fashion designers," commented Hilfiger.
