A wonderful collection of twelve vases attributed to Emile Gallé will be going under the gavel. Émile Gallé is considered to be one of the greatest French artisans of the art of glassmaking and was a pioneer of the Art Nouveau movement. His famous floral decorated vases are particularly sought after on the secondary market.

Gallé was a thoroughly modern and innovative artist. Despite his natural and botanical designs his most recognizable, throughout his career he experimented with new glass techniques and styles.

To compliment Gallé's innovative designs, the sale features the works of 20th century American designer Warren Platner. Platner's designs feature the use of materials such as steel, fabric, glass and wood, all highly unusual at the time of production.
