Three pieces of furniture designed by the king of Nordic Art Deco design, Orla Høyer, will hit the auction block at at Bruun Rasmussen on June 8. A daybed, a chest of drawers and two cabinets will feature with a combined estimate of $4 500 to $15 000.

Other design highlights include Hans J Wegner Red "Flag Halyard Chair," which is one of two manufactured copies. Among the more traditional Danish design furniture is an unusual copy of Hans J Wegner's lounge chair "Flag Halyard Chair". The model was presented for the first time in 1950 at The Arts & Crafts Spring Exhibition at the Design Museum in Denmark. In the 1980s, Getama produced a small production of chairs in white and black frame and two red. The example at Bruun Rasmussen is one of the two copies and is estimated at $15 000.

Finn Juhl's Chieftain Chair is one of the auctioning world's most sought after and most expensive chairs.  The chair was designed in 1949, but this pieces was made around 1960 by carpenter Niels Vodder.

Poul Henningsens "PH-4/3" was made in 1927-28. The champion of light, Poul Henningsen, reigns supreme in this auction with this green-patched copper and frosted glass piece, was made 1927-1928 by Louis Poulsen.

The Wallenberg Globe is a unique example of a glass globe by Swedish glass artist Sven Palmqvist. It features an engraved world map by Ernst Åberg mounted on a silver foot designed by Erik Fleming, Borgila from 1952. A similar globe made in 1930 for "match fighter" Ivar Kreuger , entitled "A true global Traveler" also by Erik Flemming, is in the Cooper Hewitt Museum Collection in New York.

The largest collection of Russian art and crafts at an auction ever in Scandinavia will be the big showstopper at Bruun Rasmussen.

The sale will feature Richard Zeiner-Henriksen's impressive collection, as well as other private collections of royal provenances. In total, the auction includes more than 400 items estimated at a combined $1 960 000 .The picture above shows, among other things, the magnificent portrait of Tsarevich Paul Petrovich of Russia, painted in Pietro Antonio Rotari's style during the second half of the 1700s.blog.php-665

Contemporary works in the sale include Harvest (Runts) by Robert Rauschenberg. The work is from 2007 and is one of the artist's last works before his death in 2008. Previous collages by the artist often consisted of magazine cut-outs, whilst this pieces features his personal photographs, often taken in Florida.
