Paddle 8 presents Damien Hirst avec Deyrolle at Paddle 8, October 14-28

Paddle 8 teams up with Damien Hirst & Deyrolle for their upcoming auction, which will take place October 14 – 28. The items have been on display at Deyrolle since September 23 and proceeds from the auction will be donated to Victim, a charity founded by Hirst, and to Deyrolle's own program of natural sciences education and preservation of biodiversity. The lots are displayed in Hirst's piece Signification (Hope, Immortality, and Death in Paris, Now and Then), a cabinet of curiosities containing mainly taxidermy and skeletons. Each item has a signed and mounted twin which will be sold at the Paddle 8 auction.

Philips will be holding a Contemporary Art Evening Sale on October 15, which will be followed by a Day Sale on October 16. Together they comprise 241 lots featuring prominent artists such as Gerhard Richter, Andy Warhol, Anish Kapoor and Keith Haring. Highlights from the sale include several pieces by controversial artist Richard Prince, such as Untitled (de Kooning), My Funny Valentine and Too Close, a piece from his series Joke Paintings.
