Mexico Contemporary at Sotheby's, November 25

Sotheby's Latin American Art Department celebrates their 35th anniversary this year, an occasion which they will mark with their Mexico Contemporary auction this Thursday. The sale includes works by some of Mexico's leading contemporary artists, such as Eduardo Terrazas, Gabriel de la Mora and Stefan Brüggeman. The highlights include Francis Alÿs' mixed media piece The Thief, based on a video of the same name that he made for the Dia Art Foundation in 1999. Another highlight is Gabriel Orozco's Evasive Action, a plastic coated computer generated laser print. It is the third in an edition of three.
