Chinese Communist banknote rarities at Archives International

A discovery collection of 1930s-era Chinese Communist banknote rarities, acquired by an American collector who spent time in China in the early 1970’s when China was beginning to have a more open policy, will be part of a two-session public auction planned for December 6th and 13th by Archives International Auctions, at 1580 Lemoine Avenue in Fort Lee, N.J. The lot pictured here is a National Bank of the Soviet Republic of China banknote from 1932, in the amount of 2 Jiao. That's Vladimir Lenin (1870-1924), the Russian Communist-Marxist revolutionary.

The auction, on back-to-back Tuesdays, will have over 1,100 lots of rare and highly collectible Chinese, U.S. and worldwide banknotes, scripophily (stock and bond certificates) and coins. The Dec. 6 session will feature banknotes, scripophily and security printing ephemera. Session 2, a week later, will include Chinese and worldwide banknotes, scripophily and coins. Lots will include a United States Act of October 12, 1837 interest bearing proof treasury note; and a Deutsch-Asiatische Bank 1907 Peking branch high-grade rarity. The Children and Athletes Regenerative Medicine (CHARMED) Foundation is holding its first-ever Fall Fundraiser online auction to support the development and translation of regenerative medicine therapies designed for the functional needs of children and athletes. Among the many exclusive items up for bid is a Scottsdale Golf Experience with Ryder Cup Champion and Team U.S.A. Vice Captain Tom Lehman. The auction winner and two guests will be treated to a round of golf with the PGA Tour Pro at the Country Club at DC Ranch in Scottsdale, Ariz.
