Luigi Caccia Dominioni, Chair with wooden footstool, polyurethane and foam rubber, 1962 Luigi Caccia Dominioni, Chair with wooden footstool, polyurethane and foam rubber, 1962

Milan-born Luigi Caccia Dominioni was both a skilled designer and an architect. Between 1950 and 1970, thanks to his modern eye and design talents, he was a key contributor to the development of the Italian architecture of the post-war period. Dominioni focused on residential buildings, many of which make up Milan's cityscape.

Dominioni design philosophy was to reduce objects to their real essence and to eliminate all unnecessary elements. On November 13, 2016, Luigi Caccia Dominioni died at the age of 102 years in his birthplace. His legacy as a design pioneer continues to inspire in the 21st century.
