The Getty, the National Gallery of Art, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Rijksmuseum, and the New York Public Library have teamed up with Electric Objects to allow 10 000 images from their archives to be streamed via the digital screen.

The E01 screen is priced at $299 and the company claims it is ''neither bright nor muted, it’s more of a luminous oil painting than a glowing monitor'' and that their ''mission is to put digital art on a wall in every home.''

Will this stop museum goers from treading gallerys' corridors? Only time will tell...
