This year, on September 9, the Queen will be the longest-reigning monarch to serve Britain. In celebration, the British Consulate is hosting a competition for a portrait of the monarch. Winners will be announced for three artists categories, under 11, 11-18 and 18 plus.

The judging panel includes Tracey Emin, photographer Albert Watson, and Consul General Danny Lopez. The chosen portraits will be part of a fixed exhibition at the New York Consulate.

Consul General Lopez commented: "We can't wait to discover the artistic talents of those who live in our consular district."

"The winners will join some of Britain's most celebrated artists when their masterpieces are hung up in the consulate, where they will be seen by ministers, royalty, and many other distinguished guests."

The official rules for the entry are as follows:

1. Entrants must have a home address in the consular district: New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, or Fairfield County, Connecticut.

2. You must include a letter with your: name, mailing address, email address (or that of your parent or legal guardian), phone number, date of birth.

3. The portrait must be of the Queen and no one else.

4. It must not exceed 18 x 18 inches and must be two-dimensional. No sculptures. Any materials may be used.

Entries must be submitted by August 24, 2015, and mailed to the British Consulate General at 845 Third Avenue, New York, NY 10022.
