A single-trigger, double barrel shotgun made around 1915 by English gun maker Westley Richards sold for $12,500 at a Fall Antiques, Fine Art, Firearms & Asian Auction held Sept. 16th by Bruneau & Co. Auctioneers in Cranston, R.I. Also, a 20th century Chinese apple green jadeite pendant necklace and earring set , mounted in 14kt yellow gold, fetched $3,750; a Chinese early 20th century porcelain avian tile made $5,000; and a 17th century Jacobean carved oak sideboard realized $3,750. Prices include the buyer’s premium.

A sculpture front cabinet designed by Paul Evans sold for $200,000 at Design Auctions held Sept. 22-24 by Rago Arts & Auction Center in Lambertville, N.J. Also, a hanging lantern by Greene & Greene lit up the room for $143,750; a first edition ESU-400 by Charles Eames went for $36,250; a pair of lounge chairs by Phil Powell realized $31,250; a pair of lacquered metal vases by Jean Dunand made $37,500 and $25,000; and a conoid bench by George Nakashima rose to $30,000. Prices include the buyer’s premium.

 

1998 Harley Davidson, $7,900, Cordier Auctions

A sleek 1998 Harley Davidson motorcycle customized by Bob Thrash, built to emulate Rad Ride’s iconic “Sniper” car that was designed by Chip Foose and built from a 1954 Chrysler convertible, sold for $7,900 at a Motorcycle Auction held August 27th by Cordier Auctions in Harrisburg, Pa. Also, a 2007 Yamaha XV1700 Road Star Midnight Silverado with a full dress kit gaveled for $5,500; and a 2002 Polaris Sportsman 90 all-terrain vehicle hammered down at $1,200. Prices are inclusive of the buyer’s premium.

A Chinese scroll color and ink painting with the signature of Xia Gui sold for $118,750 at an Asian Works of Art Sale held Sept. 25-26 by Leslie Hindman Auctioneers in Chicago, Ill. Also, a similar scroll painting, attributed to Fu Baoshi, soared to $50,000; four embroidered silk wall panels fetched $45,000; a pair of white jade bowls realized $60,000; a carved jade tripod censer and cover went for $21,250; and a hardstone inset gilt bronze circular dragon box and cover hit $37,500. Prices include the buyer’s premium.

A view of Cuba by Edmund Darch Lewis (Am., 1835-1910), sold for $53,175 at an American Paintings, Furniture & Decorative Arts Auction held October 4th by Doyle New York in New York City. Also, an 1872 depiction of Deer at Water’s Edge by Arthur Fitzwilliam Tait (Am., 1819-1905) gaveled for $25,000; a circa 1845 silver monteith by Kentucky silversmith George W. Stewart fetched $28,125; and a pair of 1775 Chippendale mahogany and parcel gilt mirrors hit $10,000. Prices include the buyer’s premium.
