The first thing you notice about Lim's home is the light and how the outdoors has been captured within. Florence explained to us how she used the same tiles in both the interior and exterior to create a unity within the space. ''The lush green landscape here attracted me to this building,'' commented Florence.

Horses, pumpkins, flowers - the sense of nature in the apartment is enchanting. A standout piece in the apartment is the mirror, created by artist Barnaby Barford, which consists of tiny porcelain flowers. Back in 2015, Barford was responsible for executing The Tower of Babel which was on display at V&A's Medieval & Renaissance Galleries in London. Barford has also been commissioned most recently by Louis Vuitton. Florence has been collecting the artist's work since he started his career.

Look around Florence's home and it's easy to see how her opinion in terms of what goes on show at Singapore's major art fairs. In the white dining room an injection of color comes in the form of a piece by Yayoi Kusama. ''Somebody once pointed out to me that I collect a lot of female artists,'' Florence commented.

Elsewhere, there are works by Tracey Emin, Anish Kapoor as well as other artists, with a contemporary thread running through the home. On the silver Kapoor piece that sits in the space just outside of the dining room, Florence explained ''when I look at it, I still love it.'' What better a lesson when it comes to art collecting.

On buying and collecting, Florence commented how her method is ''not considered or studied, instead it is completely at random.''

''Your favorite artist is a good starting point, then look at auctions and finds away from the high street.''

Florence described the inspiration for her home. ''My style is very contemporary not minimal but not stuffy. At the end of the day it is still a family home and the family aspect orientates the living, dining area and entertaining spaces. The library has a sense of family, it is a comfortable room.''

Florence explained how many pieces from her London home were brought to Singapore. ''The beauty of buying good furniture is, that, no matter where you go, you can adapt it.''

''I love to be surrounded by aesthetically beautiful things.'' And this home certainly is stunning, get Florence's look on Barnebys. Click on the piece to discover more.
