Koons' Paris representatives Noirmontartproductions, suggested the entrance to Palais de Tokyo and the Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris as a location for the sculpture to be erected.

Although Koons has almost completed the piece, which was created using funds from both French and US supporters, it has yet to be approved for installation in France's capital.

It has been reported that the Mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, suggested other places for the sculpture to be installed - but Koons was insistent on the Palais de Tokyo. Koons plans to donate all revenue from the sale of postcards of the sculpture for the next 25 years to the families of the 130 victims from the terrorist attacks.

The French culture ministry, who manage Palais de Tokyo, will have to make the decision as to whether the sculpture is erected there.
