This T shirt was Warhol's homage to the decadent Club Area at 157 Hudson Street, NY. The 1980's nightclub was a playground for the likes of Bianca Jagger, Sting, Grace Jones and many more the the decade's famous and fabulous.

A work with a more solemn story. This image of Jackie Kennedy was taken before her husband's assassination. The image which Warhol drew inspiration from for this piece was published in LIFE magazine in the December 6, 1963 issue, which paid tribute to President Kennedy.

In the immediate aftermath of the 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy, his widow, Jackie, took the time to speak to Pulitzer-winning journalist Theodore H. White, of LIFE Magazine, in Hyannis Port.

The photography section of the auction has been curated by Diego Mormorio, a critic and historian of photography. These works pay tribute to the immortalized images of photography as well as to original paparazzi such as Tazio Secchiaroli and Marcello Geppetti.

Federico Fellini's 1960 movie La Dolce Vita, features a pesky photographer named Paparazzo, after an Italian word used to describe a buzzing mosquito. The character was inspired by actual tabloid photographers of the day, and meant to represent Rome's growing obsession with celebrity culture. The character also gave rise to the paparazzi.
