Some experts believed the depiction of the woman who could be holding smelling salts to her nose, is an example of Rembrandt depicting smell. If it is from the series, the work could be dated to around 1625, whilst Rembrandt was a student in the studio of the Dutch painter Pieter Lastman.

The winning bidder of the work remains anonymous.
