Matthew Placek's 2013 3D portrait installation, which features a nude Marina Abramovic is coming to the Hudson's Second Ward Foundation.
130919 • A Portrait Of Marina Abramovic was filmed in the Hudson institute in a single take, and will now be installed in the gallery from June 10 to June 26. The immersive nature of the artwork means that viewers, who are allowed in to view the work in groups of four every fifteen minutes, see Abramovic in an intimate way in what would later become the institute she would lend her name to.
The piece received high praise from critics when it was first shown at Art Basel Miami in 2013. Placek's work then went on to be toured at film festivals including Sundance.
