Patrik Andiné started painting in the mid-1980s while in high school. From 1990 to 1995, he studied at Stockholm’s Royal Institute of Art. Depicting and constructing figurative imagery is Patrik Andiné’s main interest in painting. Using a bold color scheme, his images are often narrative in the sense that they could be stills from an animated film. Even so, his work has a clear link to a contemporary public and private reality. Patrik Andiné’s paintings can also be viewed in the light of Surrealism, as he stages various situations using depictions of people and animals that are often ambiguous.
