Karl Dahlqvist (1900-1971) Sweden

Karl Dahlqvist was a Swedish sculptor and visual artist from Stockholm. Dahlqvist pursued his studies at the Swedish Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm, as well as at schools in Italy and Germany. Bold colors, a sense of lightness and elements of naive art characterize his work. Dahlqvist did many church paintings, and he is also known for his portraits, flower motifs and landscapes. The artist also sculpted a frieze in the Resurrection Chapel in Stockholm. Karl Dahlqvist’s works can be seen at Nationalmuseum, Moderna Museet in Stockholm and the Swedish History Museum in Stockholm.
