Eugène Gaillard (1862-1933) France

Eugène Gaillard was a French architect, industrial and interior designer, and craftsman. He was one of the most influential designers of the Art Nouveau style of his time. Gaillard drew inspiration from nature and flowers for his designs, and also designed textiles for his interiors.
Gaillard designs were exhibited at the 1900 Paris Exposition, which made his work very well known and was the start of a big career for him. Gaillard often collaborated with the German art dealer Samuel Bing who exhibited Gaillard’s work in his own gallery Maison de l'Art Nouveau in Paris. Gaillard founded the Société des Artistes Décorateurs in 1901 where he also had solo exhibitions.
