Roland Svensson (1910-2003) Sweden

Artist and author Roland Smith studied at the Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm, as well as in London and France. Svensson is perhaps the foremost portrayer of the outer islands of the Stockholm archipelago, and his paintings, graphic works and writings are strongly rooted in reality with sensitivity to the special environment that he depicts.
Albert Engström, with his depictions of life beyond the city walls, was a major source of inspiration for Svensson.
Svensson’s works are represented at Nationalmuseum and Waldemarsudde in Stockholm.
