Nicola De Maria (1954-) Italy

Nicola de Maria is an Italian painter who paints dreamlike pictures in bold colors. The symbolism of the colors imbues the paintings with an otherworldly dimension, leading the viewer to a new world, as if she were escaping daily life in exchange for an aesthetic world of exploding colors. De Maria is known for his enormous installations, painting entire rooms and decorating them with wood. He has shown at the Venice Biennale, in Sydney, and in Sao Paulo.
