Christian Dell (1893-1974) Germany

Christian Dell was a German silversmith and designer. He went to different craftsmanship school between 1907-1913 where he was trained in silver and crafts. Afterwards, Dell started working as a foreman in the metal workshop at the Bauhaus school in Weimar in the 1920s.
Dell’s design style was innovative and ground breaking. In 1926, Dell began to design lamps, and thus began working for the German lamp factory Gebr. Kaiser & Co. The company's first catalogue was launched in 1936. It included Dell’s table lamp Model 6631 Luxus, and it became a huge success. The table lamp was a part of Dell’s popular lamp series Kaiser Idell ™, which is still being produced and sold today.
