Camille Pissarro (1830-1903) France

Camille Pissarro was a French Impressionist painter. Pissarro studied with Camille Corot at the Académie Suisse in Paris, where he became acquainted with Manet and Monet. Early in his career, he painted mainly landscapes, but he subsequently became established as one of the leading Impressionists and taught students including Cézanne and Gauguin.
Pissarro's paintings differ in two essential aspects from those of other impressionists: he composed his paintings more carefully and his landscape paintings always depicted people.
