Balcomb Greene (1904-1990) USA

Balcomb Greene founded, together with his wife Gertrude Glass Greene the organization American Abstract Artists in 1936. He was influenced by Juan Gris, Piet Mondrian, Pablo Picasso and Henri Matisse which could be seen in his early non-objective style. Greene later developed a style where natural form got to play a greater part, however not very anatomical and true to nature, he portrayed more intuitive shapes.
