Ewald Dahlskog (1894-1950) Sweden

Ewald Dahlskog was a handicraft maker and painter born in Stockholm. Dahlskog mainly worked in intarsia, an art form that experienced a renaissance in Sweden through his work. In the 1920s Dahlskog worked as an artistic employee at Kosta glassworks, with the task of rejuvenating cut glass. His painting features motifs from North Africa and Italy, portrayed in clear lines with decorative segments of color. Later in his painting career his subjects included Lofoten in Norway and the Swedish west coast. His paintings became increasingly austere over the years. Today Dahlskog is mainly known for his watercolors.
