Antonio Calderara (1903–1978) Italy

Antonio Calderara was an Italian artist who first studied to become an engineer, but later became a full-time painter. Calderara was mainly active in Milan where he painted landscapes and cityscapes; his favorite motif was Lake Orta in Northern Italy. Later in his career Calderara became more abstract, painting simple geometric patterns. He wanted to transform chaos into order and clarity.
