Robert Rauschenberg (1925-2008) USA

Sculptor and visual artist Robert Rauschenberg studied at Black Mountain College in North Carolina and at the Art Students League of New York. During the 1950s, Rauschenberg became known for his “Combines” which can be seen as a form of quoted reality in which he combines non-traditional objects and materials.

Rauschenberg is considered to be a representative of Abstract Expressionism and Pop Art, but he has also come to be called a Neo-Dadaist. His works conduct a clear dialog between “the handmade and the readymade.”

Rauschenberg’s works can be found at spaces such as Moderna Museet in Stockholm, with his famous work of art Monogram from 1955-1959 consisting of a stuffed goat and a car tire.
