19th c. Maine Country Pumpkin Pine Stepback Cupboard, two-piece construction with top molded cornice, top with double paneled doors with beaded surround enclosing three interior shelves, bottom with double paneled doors with two interior shelves, 79 3/4" high, 52 1/2" x 20 3/4". Replaced back corner molding, replaced hardware, wear and burns to surface.
Portrait of a Young Girl with her Cat, both looking directly at the viewer, the girl with cocked head having ringlet curls, a fox fur stole over her red dress, she is doing needlework. Oil on canvas, unsigned, unframed, 30" x 25". Craquelure, stretcher impression.
19th c. Windsor Settee, with six leg stretcher base, straight top rail, with bamboo turned arms, spindles, and base, fifteen spindles, single plank seat, nice old surface, 32 1/2" high, 40" x 16 1/2", 17 1/4" high seat. Surface wear, chips and inletted old repair to top rail, shrinkage cracks to seat.
19th c. Maasai Painted Buffalo Hide Shield, elliptical shape, leather is sewn onto a wooden frame and wrapped with leather strips, surface is decorated in red, black and white in crescent and triangular motifs, center back handle is secured with leather strips, 38 1/2" x 21" x 8". Losses to leather strapping, dryness and craquelure to leather surface, chip to vertical wood frame at top.
Southern Hunting Scene, unsigned, circa 1860, oil on canvas, laid to hardboard. Depicting a hunter reloading, his groom and four dogs alongside, in rolling early autumn landscape. Housed in gold gesso frame. OS: 30 1/2" x 35 1/2", SS: 21 3/4" x 26 3/4". Cleaned, varnished, craquelure, minor inpainting. Losses to frame.
Cherry Shaker Style Wall Clock by Thomas Moser (New Gloucester, ME), 8-day time only spring driven movement (with pendulum and key), square paper dial with black Roman numerals, rectangular case crafted with glazed top and bottom doors, 36" high, 12" x 5 1/2". Not observed running.
Late 19th c. (15) Piece Hand Painted French Porcelain Fish Service by Haviland & Co., with molded swirled rims, each painted with different images of sea life, incl: 23 1/2" x 9 1/2" platter; 3 1/2" high sauce boat, 2 3/4" high oval serving bowl; and (12) 8 1/4" diam. plates. Two plates with rim chips, two plates and bowl with rim repairs.
14K yellow gold and platinum Ring, bezel set in center is one oval shape natural chrysoberyl cat's eye cabochon measuring approx. 10.8 x 8.8 mm, weight 3.53 ct, strong double eye, milk & honey color. Surrounded with (20) brilliant cut diamonds 0.60 ct. Clarity VS2, Color F-G. Gold weight 5.80 dwt. Size 6.25. Replacement Value: $9,875.
Magnificent Overscaled Full Body Standing Figure of Benjamin Franklin in carved and painted oak, salvaged from the 1854 wreck of the ship. Roughly 82" x 36" x 30". Some surface losses, generational layers of early overpainting, tin patches, other repairs, feet replaced due to significant weathering from being displayed outdoors. Steamships of this era were the first to display full length figureheads, a development made possible by the change to a more vertical stem on steam driven hulls. The
(2) Piece 14K Yellow Gold Mounted Black Opal and Mabe Pearl Jewelry Suite, by MAZ, including beaded necklace with central teardrop shaped gold mounted onyx and mabe pearl pendant, with 14K gold shell form clasp, 18" long, pendant: 2" x 1 1/2"; and Matching round pierced earrings, omega clasps, 1 1/4" diam. Good condition.
Early 19th c. American Sheraton Mahogany Work Stand/Side Table, with three graduated Bird's-eye maple front drawers and lower shelf with shaped front, overhanging top, marquetry inlaid top edge and drawer edges, brass drawer pulls and inlaid ivory diamond shape escutcheons (no key), turned legs, 29" high, 20 1/2" x 17". Repaired front right shelf corner, otherwise good condition.
Pair of English Dark Oak Framed Wide Seat Wing Chairs upholstered in butter colored cotton, self-corded, an identical pair other than slightly different shape to the top rails, having shallow wings and straight set-back arms, the lower frame has scrolled acanthus leaf carved legs, carved and pierced front stretchers, ring and urn turned side stretchers, 19" seat, 26" arms, 52" backs, 38" x 24". Very good condition.
Circa 1810 Mahogany Bedframe with arched flame figured planked headboard, raised paneled footboard, tapered square head posts, the foot with molded square plinth stiles having gilt bronze bolt rosettes, the post beginning with draped urns, atop which are bowed reeded posts having palmette capitals, transitioning to pegs that support molded cornice canopy with ruched cream sunburst silk upholstery, 93" (7'-9") tall, 83" x 62", takes a 74" x 58" box. Good condition.
Night Fishermen, watercolor and pastel on paper, signed lower right, label verso from A.J. Heijdenruk, in grey and cream painted molded panel frame, under non-glare glass, OS: 24 1/4" x 32 1/4", SS: 16 3/4" x 16 3/4". Good condition.
18th c. New Hampshire or Maine Chest of Drawers, in figured maple, with two over four long graduated drawers, original Queen Anne pulls, molded base, raised on bracket feet, 42" high, 38 3/4" x 17 1/2". Old screw repair to front top molding, stains to top.
