Results for upsala ekeby

Upsala-Ekeby was a ceramics factory that was founded in 1886. At first the factory mainly produced bricks, but shortly thereafter production began to include wall tiles, ceramic stoves and household and decorative pottery.
After the 1917 exhibition of “vackrare vardagsvara” (more beautiful everyday goods) at Liljevalchs in Stockholm Upsala-Ekeby began to hire artists as designers, including Anna-Lisa Thomson, who designed the classic vase “Paprika,” Edvin Ollers and Sven Erik Skawonius. In 1935 the Gefle porcelain factory merged with Upsala-Ekeby AB and in the late 1970s, the factory was closed.
