Large octavo, 11 volumes. A complete set of this finely produced collection of the works of the Bronte sisters. This set, number 432 of 1000 executed on large paper, was issued in green buckram, which is well-preserved. A few volumes show perhaps the faintest evidence of moisture damage to the exterior, but this is only visible with real dedication. The paper spine label to Jane Eyre volume II has a splotch. Internally, a few hinges are a bit weak or thinly cracked, but it's a very nice set overall, with most signatures unopened. Some volumes could easily be described as "fine," and the set presents quite nicely on a shelf, thus overall a very good or slightly better example. This set, complete with numerous etchings which evoke the landscape and scenery of the novels, is regarded by many scholars and collectors as one of the finest ever produced.
